Whatever happened to chivalry? Men who cared to win his lady’s affections by simple acts of kindness, proving in time, he was a man of honor, protecting her against physical and emotional harm. Women felt safe, adored, and loved. In return, these women took care and nurtured their men. They felt a sense of pride being this man’s woman and stood proudly by his side. Sound a bit too “Little House on the Prairie”? Maybe so, but it was a great way of life.
I am blessed to have married friends, who share these chivalrous morals and values. They set the bar high and make me want this for myself. They teach me to no longer settle and it gives me something good to hope for. In time, I tell myself. No hurry, in time…
Chivalry, gone but not forgotten.
